feel good images

winter blues hit hard this season. new year with no school, no job, no boyfriend was met with much trepidation. as I tend to be a very mindful person, imagery is a big thing for me when I am feeling down. these pictures are a collection of imagery that lift my spirits, each in their own unique way.

not to threat, however, as the "no school, no job, no boyfriend" situation is underwork. I am slowly coming to terms with having graduated, and have plans for hobbies in order to take up this foreign concept they call free time. at least I am currently RA-ing in a lab at McGill, keeping a foot in academia; besides, grad school will be taking over my life before I know it. as for employment, I am almost done the training for my new job. I will be working as an intensive behavioural intervention therapist for wee-tots with autism. I have two clients, one I see mornings, the other afternoons, and they are cute as can be! and lastly, well, I cannot really do much about Adrian moving back to ny, other than take it one day at a time, which is what we have been doing. it is taking some adjusting, but turns out travels and skype are not so bad after all.

side note: one of my best friends from childhood, Josie, is moving to Montreal in the spring. in retrospect, a lot of my acadian buds have slowly been making their way to living out here. last night I attended a big acadian feast, whole thing made form scratch, right down to the bread and pie crust. it was wonderful. in my books, nothing beats the company of a bunch of maratimers. from the odd slang to the absolute pure kindness of heart, they seem to be this rare bread of people who somehow still believe in the faith of humanity. I need more of this positive influence in my life.

first time since high school

had time to not only sort,
but also fold (roll, in my case), all my laundry

my entire closet is organized, inclusive of shoes, purses, and belts

everything is nice and neat

and even my bed is made!

such a world out there when you are not busy schooling!

being social is strange

movies, going for drinks, hobbies, dinner parties, karaoke, seeing family, bowling, lady chats, shopping, decorating, late-night phone conversations, new music, wine, shows, birthdays, having friends over, going to see friends...

could this really be? a social life has blossomed once more?

since I have graduated, wow do I ever have a lot of time on my hands

as much as this rules,
it is also relatively strange to me at this point in time

even had a moment to kick back and watch a ceiling fan, imagine that

free time

movie: say anything, staring john cuscack, 1989
it's pretty much the best movie I have ever seen in my life
plus, one of the secondary characters is the same actress who plays marcy in califoriacation
her name is pamela adlon, and she would have been only 23 when she played in this movie

album: the joshua tree, by U2, 1987
fixation mostly on with or without out you
but there are most def some serious tunes on this one

ah, the life of a non-student!

a couple pics from a bar in williamsburg, brooklyn.

the shopping in this part of town was surreal.

this bar had sand on the ground throughout
it was sea-side themed - almost pirate-esque
