school forever

school has never been so invasive. annoying honours psych research and stats classes, along side other more manageable classes, and my stage, are overrrrload. ugh. oh well I guess I will just have to be in school forever, and thats ok, I'm learning some pretty rad stuff.

oh, and stage rules. met with a client for the first time the other day (after being in training for over a month). administered some standardized tests. writing a report about them now. I'm part of an intervention team, and surprisingly have a lot more responsibility then I thought I would. I get to meet with people, conduct an assessment, write a report about them (some of which have been mandated by court and will be read by a judge), and then I get to discuss with the clinical psychologist whom I am assisting about recommendations for the client. again, learnin' more rad stuff.

fridays

the single life has been teaching me a lot about myself. last friday, I stayed in and dloaded all the get up kids albums, listened to them, and went to bed. tonight, I found a vegan recipe for banana oatmeal chocolate chip  cookies, bought all the proper vegan ingredients (including the right margarine and sugar), then made them, and now I am going to bed soon.

getting to know myself has been interesting.

I like these lyrics.

Ghosts, by Caroline Keating

"Think about it, think about it, think about it good
I thought about it, I thought about it, I thought about it real good
Slow down, down, down
I can’t hear myself breathe, or think, about it real real good
But you don’t really care much for sunshine or letters or me
And these walls are so thin, you can hear everything, you can hear everything
But you don’t really care much for touching or kissing these days
No you don’t really care much for touching or kissing anyway

Stop come back now ghost I’m not down with yet, I’m not with you yet, I’m not done with you
Stop come back now, no, I’m not done with you yet, I’m not done with you yet, I’m not done with you yet

So Say what you gotta say, do what you gotta do
Take what you gotta take, and do what you want
Go on and slow down, down
I can’t feel myself breathe, or feel myself feel, or feel anything

But you don’t really care much for bike rides or autumn or me
With the wind in my ear you could say anything, you could say everything"

(I've omitted a sentence here and there, the parts where I have no clue what she is saying.)

chew on this

"subjective well-being is more about what one is striving for than it is about what one can actually attain" -Johnmarshall Reeve

life is all about attaching meaning and purpose to it.
